The both edge are 1/4" from the center needle position, which gives you an exact 1/4" seam allowance.
This foot is notched 1/4" in front of and behind needle center as a reference for starting, stopping and pivoting.
The machine must be in the straight stitch, center needle position.
Fits all low shank snap-on domestic sewing machines.
